Same exact thing that happened to B Cook happened to me. It has blocked symantec.com, lavasoft.com, mcafee.com as well as definitional updates for my antivirus software. All my google searches return links that redirect me to cheap advertisements. i've uninstalled my stumbleupon toolbar and am never using that piece of shit again. I feel helpless as far as this virus goes, though.

I stumbled upon a virus... my anti virus software did not stop it. It was masquerading as some sort of a windows xp virus licence agreement update (alarm bells) to which i did not click install/i agree... i then noticed it had changed my background to an error message ... suspicions confirmed. I have no idea what would have happened if we had clicked install as the virus seems to work well enough without that level of input from me. It restarts the computer every time you start up and seems to have erased all the system restore points (probably among other things) ... it is currently in safe mode running a virus scan with no joy yet... (other computer obviously)
