A few days ago, I hopped on the crazed of becoming a Stumbler even though I had that plugin installed to my Firefox browser months back. Initially I was rather blur of its usage until lately only that I found out of the Stumble! button. From that moment I’ve been stumbling during my free time. But only to find out that I stumbleupon a virus during one of my stumble session!
Upon loading soccercommercials[dot]com, my installed F-Secure 2008 anti-virus alerted me of a Trojan-Downloader.HTML.Agent.ij and have blocked access to the website. However this event is not going to stop me from Stumbling in the future because I know I’m well protected. Is your anti-virus program this good?

So for the millions of StumbleUpon users, beware the next time you press on the Stumble! button. Get better protection. Read our post on Top-notch anti-virus of 2007. On the side note, if you are a Stumbler, add me as your friend. I’m propop.
Nevertheless, drop me a message(info@drsafemode.com) if you have stumbled on an infected website. I’ll be glad to report on your story.

I stumbled upon a virus… my anti virus software did not stop it. It was masquerading as some sort of a windows xp virus licence agreement update (alarm bells) to which i did not click install/i agree… i then noticed it had changed my background to an error message … suspicions confirmed. I have no idea what would have happened if we had clicked install as the virus seems to work well enough without that level of input from me. It restarts the computer every time you start up and seems to have erased all the system restore points (probably among other things) … it is currently in safe mode running a virus scan with no joy yet… (other computer obviously)
Same exact thing that happened to B Cook happened to me. It has blocked symantec.com, lavasoft.com, mcafee.com as well as definitional updates for my antivirus software. All my google searches return links that redirect me to cheap advertisements. i’ve uninstalled my stumbleupon toolbar and am never using that piece of shit again. I feel helpless as far as this virus goes, though.
