The Sims 3757, 4655 auto-tagging in Facebook.com

It seems that starting yesterday many Facebook.com users are facing similar trends “Your friend tagged you in a photo”. But upon opening the photo, it is a photo of a popular game Sims 2. Some of the photos are titled “The Sims 3757″ and “The Sims 4655″. What seems to be the problem is that 150 over people were tagged in the same photo and the photo owner was not the person who uploaded the photo.

How did it get uploaded in the first place? Could it be some rogue application the user has allowed access into their profile? Some users even reported that their Facebook Wall was bombarded with hundreds of announcement. The photo also comes with a suspicious link (hxxp:\tryntry.com) that we suggest you not to visit as to not compromise your Facebook account details.

For the time being, please delete the photo from your album until we hear further news from Facebook.com.

I went into my profile.. clicked on photos.. the sims pictures were under albums… i clicked on the sims photos and then clicked edit photos.. i removed all the names on the list and then i deleted the photos.. it seems that only the people that clicked on the tryntry.com link have the sims photos added to their profile.. by removing the names list under the sims pictures removes the tags that your friends received..

I have had this happen to me but someone wrote to me saying i posted a picture of her in church? I did not and now she has deleted me and blocked me so i cant ask her about it.Did this happen to anyone else?

My problem is that the picture does not have any tags. The original “poster” deleted the album and the picture still exists and there is no option for me to remove the pic on my profile. NONE, it only gives me the option to tag or report the picture. I have reported it and i need help getting rid of it.

It seems that star again, severals friends had this messages posted on their wall, so don´t click any link if you don´t want to spam your friends.

Yep, I was tagged in one this morning when I came online

you have to block the application under your privacy settings, delete the message from your feed and confirm the “block further publishings” thing. The album is created as soon as you enter the application. It is not published as long as you don’t allow the application to publish as much as they like (Most applications request you that in a popup) but the album is shown under your notifications.

I got on my FB also. There was like dozen of Sims pictures send to my photos album. I kept removing the tag and used the remove photo option (I don’t know if it’s gonna work). And now i realized that lots of my pictures on my photo album were gone and turn invisible, so when I click the picture, the page just keep downloading without be able to show the picture/photo. I don’t know what should i do now because I even can’t delete the pictures/photos that turned invisible.

I got lots of these photos yesterday, when I logged back on today they had gone (without me deleting them) The only way I could delete them was to go on my account settings, look at photos and see who had the SIM photo linked to them then delete them as a friend.

This has got to be a virus. I clicked on a sims pic thinking nothing of it and then it all started. Everyone one of my friends on facebook has now recieved the sims stuff and three of them have virus’ on their computer! Nice, real nice….

I didn’t click on any links. I never do. The photo’s from SIMS just keep appearing. I blocked the app in Facebook. The SIMS pic’s disappeared for a week, now they are back.

Again, I DID NOT click on any links, I NEVER click on links for that specific reason! This is more complicated than opening a virus from a link!

    HELP!

  16. 16 ???Not Again????

I’m beginning to question if these “viruses” are not marketing SCAMS!
It’s always buy this, buy that to rid a virus. Sure, remove “TAGS” but where are these “TAGS?” Why are so many of us on FB infected when we didn’t open any of the SUSPICIOUS repetitive open me links? i smell a rat.
