
According to Kaspersky Lab (June 5, 2008), the new Virus.Win32.Gpcode.ak variant is said to take your personal files hostage by encrypting them with a 1024-bit key, a huge upgrade from the previous Gpcode variant which was using a 660-bit key.

We would like to announced that Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) is now finally available on the Windows Update site and Microsoft Download Center site after a terrible recalled last month which contains a couple of bugs. However before you head over to Microsoft to get a copy of SP3, there’s a few things to note which were clearly notified in the SP3 Release Notes.
- Uninstall Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8 Beta
- Microsoft Dynamic Retail Management System should not perform update until a hotfix is available
- Uninstall KB 937468 concerning Remote Desktop Client 6.1
