Firefox 2.0.0.14 fixes javascript crash

Firefox 2.0.0.14 released

The latest Firefox 2.0.0.14 internet browser is now available through update and on their official download section. This time it fixes only one security concern which is the MFSA 2008-20 - Crash in Javascript garbage collector (rated Critical). Mozilla believes that this particular crash might not be exploitable but since this type of crash have known to be exploitable in the past they decided to post it as a security issue. However Firefox 2.0.0.14 was mainly released to fix the stability issue.

Firefox logoThe latest Firefox 2.0.0.12 has been released by Mozilla on 7 February 2008. It is always good to get the latest version as soon as it is released to prevent malicious code from taking advantage of the previous version’s vulnerabilities. One of the most critical issue in version 2.0.0.11 was Firefox crashing with memory corruption, an issue I think most users are experiencing lately. For a full list of rather critical bugs, read here and while you’re at it, why not go under the Help menu of your Firefox browser and click on Check on Updates.

CCleaner cleans your crap

CCleaner cleans your crap

I particularly love this program. I can get rid of many unwanted temporary files from different sources all in one program. Back when I was not using this program, I had to browse through several folders just to clean out Windows temporary files. As a hard-core internet user which I think you are too, I sometimes switch from using Firefox to Internet Explorer and sometimes Opera therefore, this program comes in very handy as I don’t have to execute each program to perform some spring cleaning.

Some of CCleaner features:

  • Clears Internet Explorer,Firefox, Opera, Safari temporary files
  • Clears Windows Explorer history
  • Clears Windows Temporary Files, Clipboard, Memory dumps
  • Clears Windows Prefetch data
  • Clears Application history
  • Registry cleaner

How does this also help combating viruses? Virus hides in temporary folders!

Download CCleaner by Piriform. It’s totally free.
